Plans for Lisbon. September 2016.

At the end of the month we will fly to Faro for our annual Portugal trip. As soon as spring starts here I get major cravings for Portugal: the beaches, the food, the smell of the sea and grilled fish, the steep cobbled-stoned streets and cute houses, the views and the Atlantic Ocean. Our first days will be spent in Lagos with lazy days at the beaches and drunken nights in the many bars.

Afterwards we’ll head to Lisbon (and then Berlin!)  – here’s what I have planned so far:

Lisbon Arco

Visit:

  • Maat – the new museum for art, architecture and technology in Belém
  • the National Palace in Queluz – supposedly Portugals version of Versailles

Take the view from:

Lisbon sunset view

Eat:

Shop:

feira 3

Drink:

Relax:

  • at Praia Grande and one of the largest saltwater swimming pools in Europe at Hotel das Arribas
  • or in Cascais, Estoril or Costa da Caparica.
