Most of the murals in Downtown West Palm Beach were created for CANVAS WPB – an outdoor museum show in 2015. On their website you can find a map that lists all artists and locations.
The mural pictured above is by 2alas. I had never seen an artwork of the Miami-based duo before but I am definitely a fan from now on.
I was so happy to see that the german duo Herakut also created a wall in WPB, unforunately I couldn’t get closer to the mural to snap a better photo . The text on the right reads: “I Can Show You How To See A World Where Others See A Wall” – how fitting!
Some great artworks can be found on Fern Street at Wine Scene and Nicole Henry Fine Art:
Tristan Eaton is one of my favourite street artists (3 of his artworks are in this post) and he painted a large mural on Fern Street in 2014. Just a few days before I visited the building collapsed partly and destroyed parts of the mural.
Another one of my favourite street artists is Kobra from Brazil – I loved his “VJ-Day on Times Square” mural next to the High Line in New York. For Canvas WPB he created 2 artworks: one at the theater and the other one at Subculture Coffee, both on Clematis Street.
Subculture Coffe is one of the cutest cafés I visited in South Florida. Drinking iced coffee on the beautiful terrace next to Kobras mural of Albert Einstein: I couldn’t have been happier!
Another artist of CANVAS WPB 2015 was WRDSMTH – more about his pieces in West Palm Beach in this post.
Love these murals! I always enjoy the variety of street art. Thanks for sharing!
