Pisa Leaning Tower

Last summer, after visiting Bologna and Florence, I spent one night in Pisa. In the morning I walked over to Piazza die Miracoli and the Duomo. The freestanding bell tower of the cathedral is Pisa’s most popular landmark, commonly known as “The Leaning Tower”.

The tower’s tilt already begun during the construction which started in 1173 and took almost 200 years.
