Corniglia is the only village of Cinque Terre which is not built right at the ocean but instead sits on top of a mountain surrounded by vineyards, about 100 meters above sea level. With only 250 residents it’s also the smallest of the five villages and doesn’t have a hotel.
I visited the village after leaving Monterosso and got there during the golden hour, which made the colours of the houses even more beautiful.
^^ The narrow streets in the town center. ^^
^^ Seeing Manarola from Corniglia.^^
^^ “Lardarina”, the 365 steps leading up to the village from the train station. There’s also a shuttle bus between the station and the village. ^^
