nyc. favorite food & places.

a red velvet cupcake from sprinkles at GreenAcre park.

greenacre is a pocket park on 51st street between second and first avenues. sprinkles cupcakes‘ only nyc location is 780 lexington avenue between 60th and 61st streets. ¬†[i walked from sprnkles to greenacre park along park avenue to see the 9 sculptures by niki de saint phalle, which are currently¬†displayed¬†on the park avenue malls.]

a coconut donut from dough at the brooklyn flea in fort greene.

dough¬†(“we fry in bed-stuy”)¬†sell their delicious donuts at the brooklyn flea‘s original location¬†in fort greene (176 lafayette avenue, every saturday until mid november) and in their shop around the corner from the flea: at 448 lafayette avenue in bedfort-stuyvesant.

a grilled cheese and a fresh squeezed lemonade from milk truck nyc at smorgasburg.

smorgasburg takes place every sunday at the tobacco warehouse in dumbo and milktruck is one of the many food vendors. i loved their ham&cheese sandwich: simple and perfect. click here to read my recent post about smorgasburg.

a mint lemonade from flea food under the archway at the pearl street triangle in dumbo.

“flea food under the archway” are food vendors from the brooklyn flea / smorgasburg located under the manhattan bridge archway on thursdays and fridays. right around the corner is a pocket park: the pearl street triangle¬†covered¬†with a mural by artist david ellis.

an iced coffee and a peanut butter & blackberry jam doughnut from doughnut plant.

best. breakfast. ever.¬†from doughnut plant’s lower east side location (379 grand street).

the “lovelet” ice cream sandwich from melt bakery at the high line.

cream cheese ice cream + red velvet meltcakes + my favorite park = heaven. what more can i say?!
