nyc. brooklyn. dumbo. smorgasburg.

smorgasburg -a weekly food market- got a new location in september: the old (and roof-less) tobacco ware house in dumbo – right under the brooklyn bridge.

from their website: “Smorgasburg happens in two locations every weekend: Saturdays on the Williamsburg waterfront between North 6th and North 7th St., at the East River; and Sundays on the DUMBO waterfront at the historic Tobacco Warehouse. Both locations are open from 11am to 6pm, and feature packaged and prepared foods, purveyors from New York City and across the region, and other food-related vendors (kitchen utensils, housewares, etc.), for a total of 75-100 vendors. This year’s outdoor season runs through November 17/18. The markets are always open rain or shine.”

[luckily i was in town for the first smorgasburg in dumbo on september 9th. it was the perfect sunny weather for the opening day and i went there after spending the morning sunbathing at rockaway beach. i enjoyed my grilled cheese from milktruck on the lawn next to jane’s carousel and the instagram i took made it later to the bk flea blog (here!). afterwards i jumped on the east river ferry and headed to long island city in queens to relax a bit more, in one of the hammocks at gantry plaza state park. a truly perfect day. can’t wait to do it all again.]

smorgasburg in dumbo happens every sunday until november 18th, smorgasburg in williamsburg every saturday till november 17th.
